A magical country garden with a large 45-year old oasis rainforest, complete with a majestic banyan (Ficus virens) and many exotic palms and cycads, sits in the centre of a flower and mangoesteen hobby farm. A wide variety of heliconias and gingers, along with many fruit trees, offers plenty of space for visiting children to explore. Two water features add to the ambiance and create a welcome place to sit and relax.

Batchelor Gardens

The Batchelor Markets will be held on Sunday from 8am to 1pm on the Batchelor Oval in conjunction with a Sports Expo sponsored by Coomalie Community Government Council.

Food Garden

Practically an orchard growing citrus and tropical fruit trees, this garden has been beautifully and thoughtfully landscaped over 16 years. NT natives fill in the gaps and reduce water usage. This garden’s owner has created a very personal outlook over the past eight years. She discovered recycling and made many garden items from bits she was given, found or discovered at the tip shop. Thanks to the internet she learnt how to build, fix, repair and create. Today her garden is home to an inspired collection of plants, stands and containers – and there’ll always be room for more!
